Examination of importance of culture for human adaptation and survival. The variations and uniformities within the lifeways of humankind demonstrate the richness of human responses to basic needs to subsist, order behavior, and adjust to change. Systems of meaning which allow humans to make sense of their efforts are studied. A holistic approach to the comparative study of human populations. Prerequisites Reading score of 17 ACT or Verbal 430 SAT or READ 106 with grade of C/better.
