Why Choose International Business?

The International Business program at Ferris prepares students for work in a wide variety of positions and myriad of businesses and industries. Future managers must become familiar with other markets, cultures, and customs. That is because businesses operate under the notion that it is one world, one market, and we must compete with and sell to the best companies around the world. Successful executives of the future will have all lived in another country for several years. Ferris offers students a program that focuses on international business courses, foreign languages, and regional studies. In your junior year, you will be given the opportunity to study and work abroad with one of our sister institutions overseas.

Get a Great Job

The decision makers of corporate America are looking for graduates with functional area preparation, knowledge of general world business problems and issues, knowledge of cultural dynamics, and proficient in a foreign language. Markets that will show the greatest increase in demand will be outside of the United States, including the People’s Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Brazil and Mexico in addition to expanded European nations.

Graduates of the International Business program are in an optimum position to fill the needs of businesses expanding outside of America. They will hold positions in management, marketing, in sales, in customer service, logistics and with international organizations around the world. Many corporations like Steelcase, Coca-Cola, Exxon Mobile, Walt Disney and GM hire international business majors. The job outlook for these graduates remains bright with growth expected in all major industries.
