Why Choose Graphic Design?

The Graphic Design degree programs are based on the creation, organization, and production and of information for print, packaging, environmental, advertising, web, and digital communication solutions. Students apply creative and conceptual skills, design principles, and electronic technology to communicate messages to intended audiences. By working with illustrations, photography, type, and color, the student creates and manages the production of print and web communications designed to inform, educate or persuade a specific audience.

The Graphic Design programs at Ferris:

    This program prepares students for jobs in the field they have studied. Graduates of the Graphic Design bachelor degree program enter the workplace as print designers, web designers, and art directors. The program has a 98.9 percent placement rate of its graduates.

    Admission Requirements

    The Graphic Design bachelor degree program ladders from the Graphic Design associate degree program or equivalency. All candidates must complete the course requirements of the first two years with a minimum 2.7 GPA in the major courses and a minimum 2.0 GPA overall. They must also successfully pass a portfolio review, after completing the sophomore year of study.

    Graduation Requirements

    The Graphic Design program at Ferris leads to a bachelor of science degree. Graduation requires a minimum 2.7 GPA in the major courses and a minimum 2.0 GPA overall. A total of 124/125 credit hours must be completed (A.A.S. and B.S.) for graduation.
