Seminar in Law Enforcement

This course is designed for graduate students with an interest in the knowledge of contemporary policing and will explore the role of police in American society. Attention is given to the origin of policing, the nature of police organizations and police work, and patterns of relations between police and the public. The values of a democratic society as they affect the law enforcement role are also discussed.
