Introduces database management as a corporate function. Emphasis is on data as a resource in meeting organization strategic and operational objectives, improving competitive advantage, and DBM strategies for distribution of information. Data structures, data storage, data representation, data flow, data dictionaries, expert system and programming languages are explored. Concurrency and configuration control, access methods and utilities are included.
