State and local governments across the United States are studied with emphasis on legislative, executive, and judicial process, administrative functions, personnel and fiscal problems, and intergovernmental relations. Special attention is given to the vitality and ranking of Michigan government and politics with reference to socio-economic, quality of life issues. This course meets General Education requirements: Social Awareness, Race/Ethnicity/and or Gender Issues.
