Two concentrations are available: Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Health. While both concentrations provide employment opportunities in private and government settings, most jobs for graduates of the Occupational Health and Safety concentration will find positions in industry and consulting firms. Graduates of the Environmental Health concentration will find jobs in consulting firms and in state and local government.

Graduates of the Occupational Health and Safety concentration are trained to work in industrial settings to help assure the safety of workers on the job. They assist in ensuring that the workplace complies with all federal, state and local regulations dealing with worker safety.
Graduates of the Environmental Health concentration are trained to assist in the protection of human health and the environment. They work as field technicians collecting samples to assure the control of the public's health through safe food, water and air.
Admission Requirements
Applicants for admission to Environmental Health and Safety Technology must have a minimum 2.0 GPA in high school or college work.
Graduation Requirements
The Environmental Health and Safety Technology program at Ferris leads to an associate in applied science degree. Graduation requires a minimum 2.0 GPA overall. Students must earn a 'C' or better in core courses and complete all general education requirements as outlined on the General Education website. Graduates may enter the Environmental Health and Safety Management program to earn a bachelor's degree.
