Major authors, cultural background, and literary developments from the beginnings of English literature to the middle of the eighteenth century. This includes the Beowulf and other Old English writers, Chaucer and Middle English, the Renaissance writers and Shakespeare, the Restoration and Eighteenth Century including the beginnings of the English novel. This course meets General Education requirements: Writing Intensive. Pre-Requisites:LITR 250. Typically Offered Fall Only
