The purpose of this course is to provide a broad overview of the scientific research and the issues relevant to the psychology of gender. Topics to be covered include social and cognitive development, gender stereotypes, gender in the workplace (e.g., prejudice), evolutionary theory concerning human gender differences, relationship development, and mental health issues. This course meets General Education requirements: Social Awareness, and Race, Ethnicity, and Gender Issues. Prerequisites: PSYC 150 Typically Offered Fall Only, Odd Years
