A survey course covering the major topics of general chemistry relevant for biological or allied health applications, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, interpretation of equations, solution chemistry, and an introduction to acids and bases. Concurrent laboratory sessions will include experiments illustrating the principles discussed in lecture. This course meets General Education requirements: Scientific Understanding, Lab. A year of HS chemistry substitutes for CHEM 103 Pre-Requisites:CHEM 103 with a grade of C- or better or yr of HS Chem & MATH 110 with agrade of C- or better or ACT 19 or SAT 460.
