Thermodynamics (MECH 223)
- College: Coll of Engineering Technology
- Department: Mechanical Design
- Credit Hours: 3
Thermodynamics is that branch of physics that deals with the science of energy. This includes the study of the laws of thermodynamics, non-flow and steady-flow systems and conservation of mass. It also includes gas vapor processes, steam tables, psychrometic charts and air tables. It looks at power cycles, refrigeration cycles, and combustion. The course concludes with a study of basic heat transfer, energy efficiency, heat recovery and congeneration. Pre-Requisites: PHYS 211 and MATH 216 or MATH 220. Typically Offered Spring Only
