Introductory astronomy involving historical contributions of ancient and early astronomers, Kepler's and Newton's laws, ellipse properties and planetary motions, the sun-earth-moon system, geological and meteorological characteristics of each planet and its moons, comet characteristics, and asteroids. Laboratory includes telescope observation. Laboratory contains exercises related to topics covered in lecture. This course meets General Education requirements: Scientific Understanding Lab.

Requires:

MATH 010 or minimum Math score of 15 on ACT or 350 on SAT
