Hands-on practical experience in protein purification. Term project requires literature search, feasibility evaluation, record keeping and oral presentation of results. Numerous techniques such as enzyme assays, ammonium sulfate precipitation, ion exchange, ultracentrifugation, gel permeation chromatography, and SDS-PAGE electrophoresis will be used. This course meets General Education requirements: Scientific Understanding, Lab. Prerequisites: CHEM 333 with a grade of C- or better. Typically Offered Fall Only
