Examines reader response theory and history, the role of literature circles in reading comprehension, reader performance techniques and fluency development. Reader response journals, discussion groups, evaluation rubrics, portfolio construction, and the role of the teacher as facilitator are emphasized. The comprehension piece of the MLPP training for MI teachers is included.
