This course will provide an overview of the evolving health care payment systems in the public and private sectors in the U.S. Students will explore U.S. regulations pertinent to reimbursement as well as the role of the electronic medical record in reimbursement for health care providers. International models of health care coverage and reimbursement will be compared with the U.S. model of health care.Prerequisites: CCHS 101 with grade of C or above. Typically Offered Fall and Spring.
