Terrorism in the Modern World

| The course will examine the phenomenon of terrorism in the 19th and 20th centuries in terms of its origins, scope, purpose, and impact throughout the world. Students will examine terrorism by the state and against the state; ideological and theological justifications of terrorism; and how modern terrorist networks operate in a global setting. Finally, they will examine the threat terrorism poses to the state and how the modern state has responded to this threat. |
