Rise and Fall of Jim Crow (HIST 411)
This course exposes students to key issues, events and personalities associated with Jim Crow segregation from 1870 to 1965. Using six thematic modules, student study the social and political function of segregation as well as resistance to Jim Crow laws and social customs. Students analyze events and personalities who either supported or opposed Jim Crow segregation. Students write essays on issues raised within each thematic module as well as develop a portfolio final. Pre-Requisites: HIST 122 and HIST 250. Typically Offered Summer Only
