Theory of Numbers (MATH 327)
The arithmetic of the integers is used to introduce the student to the ideas of abstract mathematics and the structure of a proof. Topics include axioms and basic theorems of arithmetic, the Euclidean algorithm, congruences and modular arithmetic and continued fractions. Pre-Requisites:MATH 324 with a C- or better. Typically Offered Fall Only, Odd Years
