| Incorporation of nursing principles essential for the care of frail older adults in long term care settings. Guides students to see nursing care as the critical variable in patient well being. Provides the opportunity to learn functional, cognitive, and physical assessment to guide nursing decisions over time and evaluate their effectiveness, manage the impact of the environment, set goals and carry out nursing interventions that maintain or rehabilitate. Offers a broad perspective on the aging process including the older adult's need to maintain life tasks. |
