This course is designed to introduce the student to dosage forms used in the delivery of drugs. Techniques of commercial manufacture of dosage forms as well as the influence of manufacturing and formulation variables on drug delivery is emphasized. Application of basic pharmaceutics principles is extended into areas of formulation, product stability and efficacy. Parenteral, oral, ophthalmic, nasal, and novel dosage forms are discussed. Students will be expected to work in groups and course material will be presented using Process Focused Learning. Pre-Requisites:PHAR 325 or instructor approval. Typically Offered Spring Only
