Ambulatory Care Clerkship 1 (PHPR 602)
As a primary health care practitioner, under preceptor guidance the student interviews patients, maintains medication profiles, monitors drug therapy, promotes compliance, and fosters patient education in an ambulatory clinic. The role of the pharmacist as pharmacotherapy expert is emphasized for the student through provision of therapeutic consultations and recommendations in significant disease categories such as diabetes, cardiology, and rheumatology.
