Cardiorespiratory Diagnostics (RESP 171)
This course will use diagnostic and monitoring principles to provide the student with the basic concepts that assess and evaluate a patient's overall cardiopulmonary status consistent with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) entry level examination content outline. Topics will include the theory and clinical applications of a variety of special procedures including, lung function testing, bronchoscopy, capnography, cardiac monitoring, exercise testing, imaging studies, sleep studies, overnight oximetry, blood gas analysis, and laboratory tests.Prerequisites: RESP 100, RESP 119, RESP 125, RESP 145 and RESP 146. Typically Offered Spring only.
