This course is designed to introduce the student to the concepts of the initiation and monitoring of therapeutic ventilation for the adult critical care patient. Topics include patient ventilation changes, synchrony, waveforms, advanced oxygenation techniques, trouble-shooting of ventilators as well as monitoring and weaning procedures in the administration of adult critical respiratory care. Prerequisites: RESP 162, RESP 171, RESP 172, RESP 184 and RESP 193. Typically Offered Spring Only
