Soc of Deviant Behavior * RS

Study of the definition, nature, and patterns of interaction surrounding so-called "deviant" behavior, as well as social and institutional attempts to prevent and control it. A critical examination of sociological theories of deviant, delinquent, and criminal behavior, and application of these theories to selected forms of deviance. This course meets General Education requirements: Social Awareness, Race/Ethnicity/and or Gender Issues.

Requires:

SOCY 121 or SOCY 122 or ANTH 122
