| An interdisciplinary, social science approach to the analysis of prominent public policy issues (e.g., the environment, Native American self-determination, educaiton policy, international issues, etc.). Diverse and opposing views will be considered, as well as the process of democratic deliberation among citizens to reach consensus. Electronic technology will be used to conduct research and to communicate with involved parties. Gathering evidence, proposing and testing hypotheses, and reporting results by way of oral and written presentation will be emphasized. This course meets general education requirements: Social Awareness. |
