Why Choose an Accountancy Minor?
The Accountancy Minor compliments major fields of study in other departments and enhances students' major and career goals with a specialization in accounting. In addition, it allows students to choose a concentration in a particular area of accounting, such as financial, managerial, or tax.
The Accounting Minor consists of six courses, or 18 credit hours. Two of the six courses are required and provide students with the accounting basics essential in all areas of accounting. The four electives can then be tailored to the particular interests of the students.
Admission Requirements
Any current Ferris State University undergraduate student who is in good academic standing may enroll in this minor. Minor is not available for Accountancy majors.
Graduation Requirements
A Ferris student will receive the Accountancy Minor upon graduation with a Baccalaureate degree, and after completion of the requirements for the minor with a minimum 2.0 grade point average in Accounting Minor courses.
Note: No more than 50% of the credits in this minor may be transferred from another institution, nor will the minor be granted if more than six minor credits are specifically required in the student's major.
