Why Choose a Recreation Leadership and Management Minor?
The Recreation Leadership and Management minor is designed to enhance students who are seeking an understanding of recreation and leisure service programming and facility management. Courses will provide understanding and how to apply the leisure activity organizational skills as an enhancement to social services, commercial and tourism business, community educational setting or agencies who work with youth, families, or various age groups.
The minor incorporates development of leadership and group facilitation for programming and the management skills necessary to deliver recreational and leisure in a community setting or as part of a business operation.
Admissions Requirements
The Recreation Leadership and Management minor is open to any student admitted to Ferris State University and pursuing a baccalaureate degree. The minor is designed to complement any Ferris major program.
Graduation Requirements
The academic minor is only awarded upon completion of a baccalaureate degree at Ferris State University. The recreation leadership and management minor requires a minimum of 20 credits of course work in recreation, 8 credits are required and the remaining 12 can be selected from the listed courses for the minor.
