Why Choose the Insurance and Risk Management Minor?
The Insurance minor offers students in any major the knowledge and skills necessary to combine insurance acumen as a compliment to their major. Students will experience the most important aspects of the insurance concentration. Areas of study include: real and personal property, principles of risk management, personal insurance, insurance company operations, property and casualty insurance, and employee benefits. The insurance minor will help prepare students for exciting careers within their major, by providing additional depth and expertise within the insurance field.
Admission Requirements
Any Ferris student interested in improving their career opportunities can obtain a minor in Insurance & Risk Management in conjunction with his/her baccalaureate degree.
Graduation Requirements
You will receive the Insurance & Risk Management Minor upon graduation with a baccalaureate degree, and after completion of the requirements for the minor with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
No more than 50% of the credits required for this minor may be transferred from another institution, nor will this minor be granted if more than six of the minor credits are specifically required in the student’s major.
