Examination of prominent and current trends in research and theory in the field of mass communication. By exploring the role of mass communication in business and society, this course provides an understanding of the form, content, and consequences of mass communication. Specific topics include the intended and unintended consequences as well as the evolution of mass communication; from print to traditional broadcasting, convergent electronic media, and social media.
