FREN 280 - Literature of French WorldThis course aims to explore French-speaking world literature from a historical perspective. We will examine significant works that consider the impact the colonial era had on culture and society as depicted in literary representations from French-speaking Africa, the Antilles, and Acadia. Students will interact with literary selections in English translation, the instructor, and classmates through analyses, interactive activities, reflections, discussions, and research. Course instruction occurs in English. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and Global Consciousness, and new Fall 2017 Culture and Global Diversity.
