FREN 331 - French Culture


This survey course of the historical, sociological, philosophical, literary, and artistic developments of everyday France and the French-speaking world seeks to develop students' comprehension and critical thinking skills and gain cultural knowledge. Throughout the semester a variety of authentic texts will be used including short stories, film, poetry, and music. Students will have readings, discussion, lectures, films, oral and written reports on different aspects of France and the French-speaking world, its people, and cultures. Course instruction occurs in English. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and Global Consciousness and new Fall 2017 Culture and Global Diversity. Typically Offered Fall, Spring.
