MECH 340 - Statics-Strength of MaterialsStatics topics include mathematics of statics, free-body diagrams, concurrent and non-concurrent force systems, resultant forces, force components, equilibrium, moments, trusses, friction, centroids, and area moment of inertia. Strength of materials topics include stress/strain relationships, axial, bending and shear stresses, deformation, deflection, torsion of shafts, simple combined stress scenarios, and factor of safety.
