KCPD 230 - Metals/Jewelry Production I


This course will explore the basic ways that designs for metals/jewelry products can be produced in a studio context with a concentration on cutting, piercing, forming, forging, hot and cold connecting and casting. Emphasis will be on the integration of design and craft, how an idea manifests through these particular materials and processes, as well as how various choices of technique and finish quality contribute to their effects and usefulness as objects.
