OSCM 395 - Lean Management Systems and LeadershipThe implementation of well-planned and effective lean management systems creates a foundation that enables teams to engage in continuous improvement. In this course, students will learn how to streamline processes, that add value for the customer and lead a lean service business process initiative. Through diverse experiential learning projects, students will evaluate processes, design and implement an improved process that increases efficiency and improves an organization's operational performance. The various lean tools such as value stream mapping, kata, leadership and change management will be applied as techniques to support value creation and systems thinking. Standardized work, structured problem solving, metric development, and visual management will be examined as systems to sustain an improved process and performance.
