OSCM 410 - Lean Logistics and Network Design

An efficient and flexible logistics network facilitates increased material flow and supply management capabilities in an organization. During the course, students will engage in experiential learning projects that focus on designing an optimized system for the flow of incoming and outbound goods/services in an organization's lean fulfillment stream. Lean logistics thinking, total logistics costs, PFEP, Kanban, and innovative lean tools/methods combined with cross-functional team and collaborative leadership approaches will be used to customize an operationally efficient logistics and supply management strategy for an organization. At the end of the course students will possess the skills to identify impediments and bottlenecks and create a synergistic lean logistics network that reduces costs, improves customer service, decreases inventory, and increases operational efficiencies.
