COMM 101 - Intro to Communication Study


Communicating with others is a part of almost everything we do and getting better at it can improve all aspects of our lives. The overall aim of this course is to help us understand how the communication we engage in works to strengthen (or damage) our personal, social, and professional interactions. This course includes a general overview of the field of human communication with emphasis on the application of principles to real communication experiences. Students are introduced to different tools of the communication field as well as how to effectively apply those tools in a variety of contexts such as, but not limited to, personal relationships, work, social groups, and the investigation of communication problems. Course meets General Education requirements for Self and Society.
