HIST 257 - Domestic and Global Terrorism


Course will examine key issues surrounding terrorism in the 19th and 20th centuries,in both the U.S. and internationally. Using specific organizations (KKK, ISIS, etc.) and/or events (OklahomaBombing or Mumbai Hotel), students will explore in origins, scope, purpose, and impact of terrorism. Studentswill examine terrorism by "lone wolves;" ideological and theological justifications of terrorism; and howmodern terrorist networks operate in a local or global setting using social media. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and Global Consciousness, and new Fall 2017 Culture and Global Diversity. Typically Offered Fall Even Years.
