HIST 311 - Examining Stereotypes


Course involves applied learning, using resources such as the holdings within the Jim Crow Museum, the Museum of Sexist Objects, and the Shoah Project. These on-campus museums/archives provide a rich array ofprimary source materials for learners to study and analyze. Students will learn about the history andevolution of key stereotypes based on race, ethnicity, gender, etc. This course meets General Education Requirements: Cultural Enrichment, Race/Ethnicity/Gender, and new Fall 2017 Culture and U.S. Diversity. Typically offered Spring semester.
