Course explores popular expressions of American culture and leisure time pursuits during the 1900s. The course examines consumer tastes among middle-class and working-class Americans focusing on mass culture mediums such as radio, TV, movies, video games, and sports. How popular culture reflects concerns of race, ethnicity and gender will be addressed. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and new Fall 2017 Culture. Typically offered Spring semester.
