HIST 350 - Two Rivals: France and Britain


Course examines political, economic, societal, cultural, and religious forces that shaped the countries ofFrance and the United Kingdom while also shaping the relationship between them in the modern era. Wewill consider such issues as their competing empires, their differing governmental systems, their alliances inWorld Wars I and II, and post-war economic integration and their involvement in pan-European institutions.This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and Global Consciousness and new Fall 2017 Culture and Global Diversity. Typically Offered Spring only.
