JRNL 251 - Understanding Mass Media


The course is designed to critically examine mass media. Students will study the theory, evolution, ethics, regulation, controversies, and societal effects of mass media to understand the roles that books, newspapers, magazines, film, radio, television, and Internet play in society. This course meets General Education Requirements: Social Awareness, Self and Society. Typically offered Spring.
