MUSI 236 - Music in FilmThe background and historical development of music in Cinema. Designed to help the student understand the relationship between music soundtracks and the enjoyment of film. Emphasis on viewing and discussing films and soundtracks from the silent era chronologically through the beginnings of the sound era, the decline of the Hollywood studio system. New cinema from 1960-76, the classic revival 1977-1988, and 1989 through the most current influential 21st century films.
