Demonstrates the procedures one should follow to select plastics for an application. Major plastics fabrication techniques and the main plastics design "rules of thumb" are reviewed. Classwork covers plastics failure mechanisms and weakness which plastics materials exhibit. Emphasis is on plastics materials, specifications, economics, and historical application areas.
