ESPN 434 - Teaching Students with Moderate/Severe Cognitive Impairments


This course will introduce the student to the student with moderate to severe cognitive impairments. Topics will include assessment of academic strengths and weaknesses, the curriculum needs of the student, modifications and adaptations, transition issues, and pre-vocation and vocational concerns. The student will develop a portfolio of ideas to be used with moderate to severe cognitive impaired students. Students are required to complete 40 hours of field work with students with moderate/severe cognitive impairments. Typically offered in Fall, Spring and Summer
