DHYG 213 - Periodontics


This course provides dental hygiene students with disease recognizing skills to differentiate between periodontal health and active disease. Topics include, periodontal anatomy, development of gingivitis and periodontitis, the influence of risk factors such as host response, genetics, use of tobacco products, and systemic conditions. Students will explore both the philosophical and clinical approaches to periodontal therapies. Typically offered Spring.
