PHAR 791 - Direct Patient Care IPPE


This course is designed for students to expand upon skills learned in the classroom and previous IPPE courses. It will provide students with the opportunity to work directly with patients in a healthcare setting as a caregiver, educator, and collaborator. Skills emphasized will be effective communication, gathering of patient data, documentation, active listening, interprofessional practice, and cultural sensitivity. It is expected that this introductory course will begin to prepare students to provide patient-centered care as the medication expert. Typically offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.

Students must successfully pass and complete all required P2 didactic courses, co-curricular assignments, and patient care skills passport assessments to enroll in this course.
