PSYC 215 - Health Psychology


The intention of this course is to give a general overview of health psychology. Health psychology considers health and well-being across the continuum of different populations. This course will emphasize the biopsychosocial theory in conceptualizing health. A range of relevant theories and research will be covered. The course will include topics such as stress, health-promoting and harming behaviors, disease, and healthcare systems while highlighting behavioral factors. Additional topics will be covered, such as pain management and lifestyle factors.
