PHAR 791 - Direct Patient Care IPPE 2

The Direct Patient Care Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience course is designed for students to expand upon skills learned in the classroom and the medication distribution IPPE. This experience will provide students with the opportunity to work directly with patients in a healthcare setting as a caregiver, educator, and collaborator. Skills emphasized will be effective communication, gathering of patient data, documentation, active listening, interprofessional practice, and cultural sensitivity. It is expected that this introductory course will begin to prepare students to provide patient- centered care as the medication expert. Typically offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
