ARTH 111 - Renaissance thru Present This course introduces the discipline of Art History, which examines the communicative power of art and visual culture. This chronological survey covers the art of the Western world from the early Renaissance through the twenty-first century. Focusing on works of painting, sculpture, and architecture, students will examine art within its cultural and historical contexts. Students will also develop the skills and vocabulary to discuss works of art, paying careful attention to the formal elements of art and the principles of design. This course meets General Education requirements: Cultural Enrichment and new Fall 2017 Culture. Typically Offered On Demand Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
