BIOL 343 - Ornithology The purpose of this course is to gain an understanding of and an appreciation for the biology of birds. Lectures will address various aspects of avian biology, including evolution, behavior, anatomy, physiology, ecology, and biodiversity. Labs will involve examination of preserved specimens, dissections, and field trips for development of field identification skills. Students will be expected to learn the taxonomy and natural history of the avifauna of Michigan. Typically offered Fall, even years. Level: UG Credit Hours: 3
